Easter . . . just my style (meaning a bit late)

It is very apparent that Adam
is not yet an expert on holidays
Not that I expect him to be, but just saying.

The day before Easter,we were in Mona It took some convincing to get him to pick up the eggs. In fact, at grandma's house he sat and posed for pictures in the middle of the hunt.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Fortunately,

piles of new toys

aren't that hard

to figure out!

I guess I can't
complain since this
year is probably as
easy as it's gonna be
for quite a while.

When we got home I filled
eggs with Adam's candy from the day before, threw in some left-over Christmas and Valentine's day candy, and just threw them on the lawn.  No need to hide them this year.

Floofy Dress

Here is the adorable floofy outfit I designed and made for my niece.

And here is the cutie pie in it!

I love to make cute girly stuff!

I Dress Myself

Adam has become very independent.  It is very amusing to watch him dress himself.

He insisted on sleeping in mittens for a few nights!

He wanted 2 sets of jammies this night.

Back to 'Normal'

It is always nice to go see family for a while, but getting home is always nice too.

Eric is starving while dinner cooks.  I look over and find him putting leftover spaghetti on a bun.  "Spaghetti Sandwich," he says, looking at me like I'm the weird one.
Then Adam says, "Ding, ding,  food time."   Later he calls me "Bongo Head."

The house is a disaster, there is a lesson to prepare for morning, unpacking to do and loads of laundry.  We are exhausted, and decide it is better to just crawl into bed.  The rest can wait for morning.
It's good to be home!

We were able to go visit Eric's family and see the new Harry Potter move.  Thanks to Janae for watching our boy!  Then we had a 5k for the Run 4 Ry. (Eric's cousin's son, Rykert,  was recently diagnosed with muscular Dystrophy)  Then off to the Keyte family thanksgiving dinner.  (Grandma forgot to book the church, so it was at Chuck-a-Rama)  Then off the the rental house in West Jordan to check out the damages and change the locks.  Bad snowstorm on the way home.  The car next to us on the freeway was spinning in circles.  Thanks to Eric for excellent driving and to God for watching out for us.

Non-Toxic

We wanted to let Adam paint his pumpkins this year, but I didn't have any kids paints.  So I changed my clothes, put Adam in an old t-shirt of mine, and had Eric steer clear.  I covered the upholstery on his chair and let him go to town, thinking I had covered all the bases.  I was right there with him, so nothing could go wrong, right?

Then I hear a little voice, "ucky!"   So I immediately wiped wiped out his mouth, finally realizing why children's paint is non-toxic.  He also had to try some of the other colors to make sure that they were just as ucky.

The next trip to Wal-Mart, we were sure to pick up some kids paint.  Now I know: even when kids are past the everything-goes-in-my-mouth stage, bright colors are still enticing.  And although some child friendly things may be overboard just to avoid being sued; others are there for good reasons.

My Blog

I decided to start a blog where I can feel like I'm talking to someone instead of just talking to myself all of the time. Eric doesn't think it is wise for me to come up with any more ways to take up my time. He's probably right, but this is a way for me to tell some of my stories and express my thoughts. I can then pretend that someone is actually interested. I figure it can be like a journal for me, since I only write in my actual journal approximately once every five years. So here goes.
